Q : What is NEET (UG)?

Answer : The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) (UG) is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) since 2019 with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (which is now known as the Ministry of Education), in pursuance of the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide Judgement dated 22.11. 2018 in C.A. No. 11230 of 2018 in the matter of CBSE Vs. T.K. Rangarajan & Ors. (Para 22)

Q : WHAT IS NEET COUNSELLING?

Answer : NEET counselling is the next step that comes after clearing the exam. Candidates will get admitted to Medical colleges any place in India through NEET counselling. On the basis of the All India Rank of the candidate and their choice of college, the seats will be allocated. According to the latest update, 13 AIIMS institutes and 2 JIPMER institutes will also be listed in the NEET counselling for the applicants to choose.

Q : IN WHICH MODE THE NEET COUNSELLING IS CONDUCTED?

Answer : NEET Counselling is conducted in both online and offline mode, depending on the respective state and central authorities. The students participating in online counselling will have to fill online forms and go through the online procedure. Candidates participating in the offline counselling must directly report to the respective venues.

Q :WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION FEE FOR NEET COUNSELLING?

Answer : Rs.1000/- (non-refundable) during the registration process and 10,000 Rs. (refundable) as security deposit must be paid by candidates belonging to the general category under 15% AIQ. 

Q :WHEN IS NEET COUNSELLING CONDUCTED?

Answer : NEET Counselling is generally conducted once the results are declared. Candidates who have qualified NEET clearing the cut-off by obtaining the minimum qualifying percentile are eligible to take part in the NEET Counselling.

Q : WHO CONDUCTS THE COUNSELLING FOR STATE AND PRIVATE COLLEGES?

Answer : For 85% of the state quota seats and private colleges of the state, the respective counselling authorities of that state will conduct the counselling.

Q : WHAT IS THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ROUNDS INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS?

Answer : Totally, there are 3 rounds conducted in the NEET counselling, including a mop-up round conducted by Deemed/Central universities.

Q : WHAT HAPPENS IF THE STUDENT DOESN’T GET A SEAT IN A MEDICAL COLLEGE?

Answer : If the student is unable to get a seat in a Medical college, there is no need to worry. There are many other equally interesting and challenging courses such as Pharmacy, Nutrition, Clinical Research, Nursing, etc. that he/she can opt for.

Q:What are the documents required for counselling registration?        

Answer: The documents required for registration in the counselling are scanned copies of Highschool Marksheet,

Intermediate Marksheet, Reservation Certificate (OBC, SC, ST, EWS, EX. Army, NCC, FF & PWD) if applicable & Domicile Certificate.

Q:How old can the EWS & OBC category certificate be?       

Answer:  The certificate of the candidate should be issued after 01 April 2024.

Q:As an EWS category candidate registered for NEET UG 2024, will I be eligible for reservation if I want admission in a private college?          

Answer: There is no provision for reservation in private colleges

Q:If the candidate has a Reserved Category Certificate issued by the Central government, is the certificate valid for state UG NEET 2023

counselling?   

Answer: To claim state quota, the candidate must have the certificate in the prescribed format from the state.   

Q: How can candidates obtain valid PwD certificates for NEET Counselling?       

Answer: Candidates seeking a PwD (Persons with Disabilities) seat can obtain the disability certificate from any of the designated NEET Disability Screening Centres. The certificate should be obtained through online mode only. The list of designated screening centres is provided in the NEET UG 2024 brochure.

Ans- You can pay the registration fee for NEET counselling 2024 online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking after login.

Q: What is the counselling process for NEET UG 2024 Counselling?  

Ans:Counselling procedure involves registration, registration fees payment, security fees payment, document verification,choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted college or admission nodal centre for admission.
